Associate Research Director
Lloyd is the head and operational lead of the MAHSC Research Office, providing strategic and operational leadership for research support across MAHSC’s seven member organisations. Lloyd is responsible for co-ordinating an operational team of senior research managers across the MAHSC partnership. Lloyd is leading the harmonising of R&D processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness across MAHSC, develop a life sciences portal to support researchers and industry and establish a MAHSC training programme for researchers undertaking clinical trials.
Lloyd is an honorary senior lecturer in the Institute of Inflammation and Repair at The University of Manchester. His research focuses on understanding what causes pain, particularly in conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and non-cardiac chest pain, and how to treat patients using both psychological and pharmacological means. He was previously Programme Director for NHS QUEST, and Associate Research Director at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and Salford Primary Care Trust.”
