For Nurses, Midwives, Social Care and Allied Health Professionals:
The School of Nursing,Midwifery & Social Work in association with Health Education North West and local NHS providers offers a Clinical Scholar Scheme to enable those who do not already have research qualifications to conduct small-scale improvement projects in their practice area.
The School of Nursing, Midwifery & Social Work has also secured funding from the NIHR to support 15 fully funded studentships annually for registered Nurses, Midwives and Allied
Health Professionals to be seconded from employment to undertake a Masters in Clinical Research.
In addition, MAHSC is currently developing ways to support research trained Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals to continue to develop as Clinical Researchers on return to their practice roles. Funding is available to support small-scale pilot projects to enable teams to develop research proposals that are aligned to the aims and objectives of the MAHSC domains. These developments were informed by the discussions at a meeting aimed at facilitating the development of Clinical Researchers held in January 2014.
