RI Conference

This year’s Research and Innovation Conference will be held on Tuesday 22nd November.

Translating world-class research into innovations to improve healthcare is vital to Central Manchester's continued success as a University Hospital, and this conference is an excellent opportunity to share ideas and promote research.

The conference will feature keynote addresses from:

• Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manchester - A stroke of bad luck – new approaches to understanding brain disease
• Professor Rosalind Smyth, Director of NIHR Medicines for Children Research Network - A new era for medicines for children
Other highlights of the programme will include:
• NIHR Research Design Service for the North West (NIHR RDS NW) Advisory clinic (20 minutes appointments). RDS advisers will provide expert one-to-one advice on your research idea or draft proposal. • Examples of the latest advances made by the Manchester NIHR BRC and developments in the CMFT research strategy, including a focus on nursing midwifery and allied health professional research
• Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (MAHSC) update
• Talks from Manchester’s next generation of leading academics
• Oral and poster presentation competitions, celebrating excellent outstanding multidisciplinary research. Prizes to be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place

We are now calling for abstracts for posters and oral presentations to be submitted. For more information including the abstract proforma, please click here. Please note - abstracts and posters should be written in a style that is understandable to a lay audience.
