Manchester Academic Health Science Centre

Manchester Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) was formally established in July 2008 to support the development of Greater Manchester as a world leader in health research. It is one of just five AHSCs in England.

Our partnership unites leading NHS healthcare providers with world-class academics and researchers from the University of Manchester. We share a common goal of giving patients and clinicians rapid access to the latest research discoveries, and improving the quality and effectiveness of patient care.

As well as improving the health of our local communities and teaching health professionals, we have a responsibility to use our resources and discoveries to support enterprise, innovation and job creation.
